OKay so I just got suckered into doing MSA work at this upcoming isna whereas up until last week I was all looking forward to a totally chill time in chi-town this year. My buddies say I just can't say No... which would explain why I'm a hardcore drug abuser. hahaha just kidding... (I think). But anyways, that's just what happened and now I'm using this blog to ask if anyone would like to help out for a couple of hours as well. You'll get to meet TONNNNES of people and inshaAllah if you're working with me well then psssh OBVIOUSLy it's gonna be a blast.

:P

So if you're interested, lemme know! You can either email me, or phone me, which in order to phone me in case you don't have my number, you need to email me. Also, if you're going to be in the area, then feel free to also email me, but if it's after Wednesday morning, then you'll have to phone me, which in order to phone me, you'll have to email me.

I'm sure you understand.

hahahah see you guys later!! WOOOHOOOOO

Oh and if you are going this year, a really good friend of mine will be doing something totally wicked on Saturday Sisters Entertainment, and the main ISNA entertainment. SO if you're a girl, go to the sisters entertainment and cheer her on!! and if you're going to the isna entertainment on sunday, then cheer her on like MAD!! I don't care what you do the rest of the conference, just go there and cheer like MAD! hahaha

thank you, thank you very much.

Many Thanks

Hey guys, assalamualaikum,

I just wanted to give a huge, if not GIGANTIC, if not TREMENDOUS, if not STUPENDOUS ... (??) thanks to my buddies that helped out at the wedding. that read this blog (which i'd say about half of you guys do so don't try and deny it). That did KILLER decorations mashaAllah for both the mehndi and at the wedding, and that worked so hard it hurt me to see you guys like that. May Allah swt bless you 50 times over for all your hard work and sincere intentions. :) AMEN. Too bad Tina caught the bouquet. DOH.

So like.... i'm sitting at work right now incapable of doing anything but put my head down and think about the wedding, or sit up as my eyes glaze over and my head is tilted to a point where gravity is at it's peak potential, or just sit here with my eyes half open and my mouth wide open, OR... write about the delirium that is currently me.

The wedding program wasn't that great, I'll be the first to admit it. (That's cuz if anyone else says it I'll probably knock you out.. heheh no jk). The mic volume was so low you couldn't hear a thing when we were speaking, you had to basically talk RIGHT into the darn thing and make it ur spittoon or something and when asked to turn it up, the hotel turned it up only slightly and you still couldn't hear properly from the back of the room. That, in my opinion, is an organizer's worst nightmare, and well, yeah, that pretty much came true. Anyhow, I think the audience was bored out of their minds, the groom came late, the dinner wasn't the same that she had picked out (the potatoes were absolutely amazing though I must say.. mmmm), and yeah, did I mention I believe the audience was bored out of their minds?

hahaha

Regardless, I had a good time just seeing everyone alhamdullilah. Plus, Bilal Bhai (the groom) gave me money at the end even though I didn't argue for it. What usually happens is that all the sisters from the girl's side threaten the groom to empty out all his pockets o' cash otherwise he can't take the bride. I didn't even know it was going on, I was too busy stuffing my face with pistachio cheesecake thingamijiggy and chilling with good company, when suddenly I looked up and noticed the swarm huddled around the couple. I raised my neck, looked left, looked right... and went straight for the kill. MUAHAHA. It was awesome though cuz apparently they were negotiating deals for quite some time already that all I did was sit down there and he said, "Here Shaheen, you take it." haha such a moocher I am.

I told him to take it back and he was like no... well ok, then I was like hell no, I'll give it to qamer instead.

The mehndi on the other hand was fantastic alhamdullilah. Just to let you guys know that helped out, qamer was so extremely happy afterwards and she kept on saying stuff like she had the BEST time of her life, and would continue to giggle every ten minutes. hahaha. SO that's payoff I guess. I managed to get two pieces of glass stuck in my foot that night though hahaha. At first I thought it was just one, but after having qamer, aunty nighat, and zia try to get the first one out, (one person with a flashlight, one with a needle, and one directing) I walked to my car only to realize the other foot had one too. I swear, glass choorian should be banned.

Anyways, I'm a lil' tired and man, subhanALlah, I really am at work so this is terrible, *drool*, I'll catch up with blogworld later. Oh, but again, I just wanted to say thanks to you guys that helped out. Sadiya and Sabiha man, I don't know how you kept going the way you did. Like seriously. Especially last night?? When you said you'd take them down and fix the room, I think I was looking at you like you were aliens. hahhahaha. aww. SO thanks guys, sadiya, sabiha, saira, nil, nusraat (I forever have an image of the leaf imprinted in my brain), you guys have my heart. lolloo.

wassalam.

I think I"m gonna be fired.

what happens next?

Oh man. I honestly don't know if I can handle the rest of this week. Up until now my friends and I have been working away at planning this wedding but there are so many things up in the air right now that I don't know what to do first. I think it's probably because Qamer's stressing though, that I'm stressing. She rubbed off on me! She wasn't supposed to rub off on me. But after 23 years, I guess she kinda managed to do that. I was looking through some old photos today and some footage and man, subhanAllah, you know you're close when you have pictures of one another in shiny shimmering 2 feet tall shalwar kameez at 'Association of Pakistani Canadians' events. I started to get a little teary eyed, looking at everyone and wondering where we all are now. But just a little teary eyed cuz I was too tired. :P (By the way Kiran, you're in them too, and youuuu were just BLInnnGinnnn!! Nani sure knew how to make them clothes MashaAllah! *giggle*)

As for getting through this week, I'm extremely scared. Looking through those pictures did not help in the least, it only made me stop and think for a while, which is NOT GOOD RIGHT NOW!! Because really, does anyone know what I'm going to do without Qamer??? Lady Q?? Princess? hahahaha SSSHHHH don't tell her I said that!

But really, who the heck is gonna call me up for random movies that start in 5 minutes? Or slurpees on a biting cold day? Or show up at my door to go for a walk without prior notice? Or listen to me ramble on without it having to be through a size 12 font? Or tell me that my eyebrows need threading? Or advise me on boys? hahahahaha *cough* excuse me. I mean, advise me on family matters? Who's gonna tell me when I'm being annoying, or killing her ears through the phone? Who's gonna turn up her music even louder so she can drown out my singing? Who's gonna pamper me with special home made coffee drinks and show up at my house at random hours to shake me up a new test drink? Who's gonna go shopping with me??!?! I don't go shopping unless she makes me! *worries* Who the heck is gonna go to parties with me? Or go for ice cream late at night? Or go for drives with me without having to say a word?

Who's gonna go on roadtrips with me, and shop till we drop or literally cry in the car? Who the heck is gonna wake me up in the morning if my mom doesn't? Or leave me 4 messages and 5 texts saying, "Where the hell are you, we're late!!" Who's gonna call me up to give them a boost? Or force me outta the house when I really would rather just stay home only to realize I really needed to go out. Who's gonna randomly pull chocolate out of her purse because she knew I wanted some, or be my funky mint supplier? Who's gonna understand me completely and wholeheartedly without even exchanging a word? Or introduce me to songs with great beats but terrible singers? (massari) Who's gonna be my new snowboarding buddy... rollerblading? Walking? .. Breathing?

Who? Who's gonna do that?

And how is this wedding supposed to go smoothly if I'm an emotional wreck? Hello everyone, I'll be your host for this evening, and I'd just like to... I.. I'd just like to.. I... welcome.. like to... *burst into tears*

I think I need some sleep. Days off from my job that yes, is still wonderful Alhamdulillah. And some Qamer insurance.
