Randomness...

Alright so my comment server sucks. I wonder if I was to switch over to something else if there were any way to transfer all the comments... but I think i'm giving this too much thought.
Oh and my website's pretty nasty too actually. Everytime I come and check the site, I prepare myself to give it a whole new look... but then I stop myself by thinking I have way more important things to do... Meanwhile... I probably could have fixed it up in the time that I'm taking to write this post.
AH well. lATER. i Postpone, like the procrastinator that I am.
SO?! How's everyone's holidays going!!!!!!! Alhamdullilah, holidays are great. One shouldn't have to go to school longer than 4 years. *nod* But inshaALlah, I'll be graduating next year, and I'M SURE i'll be saying I wanna go back. But still, at least i'll have moved ON. I feel like I've reached this level of education that I just can't get past. Seriously.. I've been in my last few years of university foREVER!!
But anyhow, that's not what I wanted to blog about... I just wanted to make a random list of random thoughts, but now I'm running out of time cuz I gotta go somewhere for dinner in like.... 1/2 an hour. So! Let's begin:
-I'll reiterate the fact that my comment box and website suck. Must Fix.
-I started listening to music again... I tuned in to BBC Asian Network, PUnjabi Hit Squad and Adil Ray, and I was hooked. The accents make it all worth it. I'll link it later.
-I learned Polish for "How are you" at work today: Yakjumash... and the response would be 'Dobje' for 'Good'
(I think)
-the weather this morning was sOOOoOOoOOOo NICE subhanAllah. I stepped outside and the snow was all slushy (clean slushy), it felt like 2degC, there wasn't any wind, it was still dark and silent.. and it was very peaceful... But THEN! I came back home at 3ish and the ground was filled with snow and hard ice. Apparently there was a lil' snowstorm. It was the calm before the storm.
-I think I may have a cavity
-I actually said 'Yo' in conversation the other day as, "Yooooooo, that's ridiculous!!" with a coworker mind you. Thanks a lot people, thanks a whole bunch.
-Blogging is such a waste of time, but I realize it's for those that need a break from reality or sometimes just for a good laugh. I'll try to entertain those that require the entertainment whilst at work or amid procrastination. May Allah help us otherwise. ;) I'm gettin kind of tired of it though u know? Does anyone else feel the same?
-Nusraat's back from Cali. YOOOOO. :PP
-Sadiya's in Michigan. BOOOOO
-I should probably become a teacher... in that way I'll get a whole summer break EVERY YEAR. That's living rich.
-If Asma ever reads this... I'm listening to Babuji Zara Dheere.... I STILL GOT IT KURIAY. AWWWW YEAHHHH.
-ummm I had more important random things but now I don't remember and time is of the ESSENCE! you know.. for like.. make up and stuff. hehehe
OH THAT REMINDS ME.. here's another one:
-my bhabhi said i'm different... i'm not like other girls, i'm more like saira and jennifer. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aLHAMDULLILAH!
however... she said it with a slight tone of dismay cuz she said i don't worry about the usual materialistic stuff other girls do. ( I do though, she just doesn't know). BUT TO BE compared to the Rahmans!! Alhamdullilah, thanks Najma.
K but now i'm done. You can add more to the random list, if my comment box lets you.:P WASSALAM!!

HO HO HooOO MERRRRRY CHRISSTMASSSSS!

hehe sorry, I couldn't help it. Work was hilarious today. Everyone was saying it to me, and I'm like, "Yahh thankss, you too", But even I got annoyed with just saying that. I also felt that I sounded a little bit rude to not give the FULL greeting. you know?

SO! In some cases I'd respond, "Yah, Merry christmas, .... "
HAHHAHAHA you know how awkward and ridiculous that felt?! Every time I said it I winced...and then had a good laugh at myself.

But anyways, that was my MERRY day today... how was yours??? I actually have to go to my aunts and uncles' right now for their christmas dinner.... *sigh* such confusion really. But I figure I owe them that much, seeing as how they all practically raised me. ALhamdullilah. So I'm not going to actually celebrate christmas, I just want to be with my mom's side of the family. Ca c'est ok???
Je ne sais pas.
But have a good few days inshaAllah... and if you go boxing day shopping... just remember to get me something. Thanks.. thanks a lot. :)

I'm a mandarin orange monster. I just had three mandarins in a matter of 15 minutes. And I have nothing to blog about except sleep and mandarins. So I think I'll dedicate this song.... to mandarins....
Mandarins are good for you, mandarins are funnnn,
I love mandarins I eat them all the time,
I eat them in the morning, and I eat them for my lunch
If I had a hundred mandarins,
I'd eat them all at once.

Thank youuu thank youuuu

man oh man oh man... so i was cleaning up that room that i just told you about in the last post.... and I found something that took me back.... wayyyyyyy back. It was handed down to all my cousins, and I think one o' them was about to throw it out. That's when my mom brought it back for hamza. It was all flat, and really... a disgrace to the legacy it upheld in my eyes. It still had my name on it on the bottom though!!! Awww yeahh.
So I pumped it up... went into the kitchen.......... and started PogoBallin' all over the place. khehehhehehehehhehehhehe it was so much fun! I had this huge smile on my face, and I felt like I was 6!!! *sigh* THIS is what breaks are all about.

Now I just have to dig out my SkipIt. YAYYYYY

SO liKE!! i'm on break now alhamdullilah. You know what that means?! It means I have time to do other things like my thesis, which I've totally avoided, hehe hoho bad idea, organize this room that i'm sitting in (it was supposed to be an office, but now it's filled with books, school stuff, toys, *looks around* and pots and pans...) work, better family relations, fulfill committments...and play with hamza!! I also have this silly brochure to make for this engineering conference coming up here... it's kind of like those ISNA programs... why I sign myself up for these things, I have no idea.
It doesn't sound like too much of a break anymore, does it. except for the playing with hamza part. and perhaps i'll throw a party. Actually... I was thinking of throwing a specific kind of party until I found out the other day that the honourary guest will be LEAVING!! *ahem ahem* It's time to initiate plan B. I don't know what that is yet, but qamer and I will figure it out. YOU HEAR ME SPECIAL GUEST?! WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT!! :P
But I hope everyone has an AWEEEESOMMEE break inshaAllah, i think we all need one, and DESERVE one. Especially ayan, since he said he's 'never worked so hard in his entire zindagi'.
Yes... holidays... So It Begins....

P.S. Eowyn is my new hero.
P.P.S. An update on the movie.. I won't ruin it, but it started off very disturbing, and then after that it made us all laugh and cry, and laugh... and cry... and cry... and laugh... and i'm tellin' you, we laughed at the most stupidest things!!

Just got out of an exam. Alhamdullilah. But now I have something in about an hour and a half that's got me all nervous, so.. pray for me inshaAllah. And then tomorrow's my last one. and we all know what day tomorrow is RIGHT?

speaking of which... (I'm on a nerd roll here, so go with me)... I saw an episode of Star Trek recently on 'Spike TV', and I HADN'T SEEN IT BEFORE!! it was when Jean Luc got captured and tortured by Cardassians... I don't know how it started cuz I just caught the last half of it, but HOLLYYY it was good!! If any of you have seen it....

"THere... ARE... FOOURR... LIGHTS!!"

bwwahahhaa. sorry. i laugh at my own jokes. jeez. i think i'll stop now.
I'm hungry!

k so I just got back from watching The Two Towers in the theatres, just to 'refresh' my memory. hehheheheeh HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Now I know you're all jealous, may ALlah swt help you.
But this had the ADDED SCENESSSS!! I hadn't seen them yet, and they were aMAZZING!! I can't believe they took them out of the original... for instance, at the end of the battle scene where the urukhai were fleeing, the Ents appeared as a still forest until all the urukhai were inside, and then unleashed their rage. Oh... it was GREAT.
AND... they expanded on Faramir's character as written in the book by showing flashbacks of him trying to please his father, and his good intentions. I mean, by cutting that out, they just made him look SHADY!
oh man... it was AWESOMEEEE!! i can't WAIT till Wednesday... right after my exam that is. MUAHAHAHHAAA.
Here's some of the funny dialogue between us while we were watching it though:

In a scene when Frodo suddenly bent over in pain and hand to his chest, Sam goes, "It's the ring isn't it Mr. Frodo?"
Me: Nooo... that can't be it
Jennifer: I also have a bad heart condition

When the Ents were distroying Isengaurd, Sadiya blurted out, "This is what you'd call a natural disaster."

When Eowyn hugged Aragorn in the end:
Me: Get yo' hands off, he already has someone else!
Sadiya: A hug is halal, a hug is halal!!

but to give due credit to all the cool people I went with, I went with Saira, Nilu, Jennifer, and Sadiya. obviously.
I CAN'T WAIT TILL WEDNESDAY... don't worry sadiya, tickets tomorrow tickets tomorrow!! InshaAllah. <-- hahhaha.

I got stopped by a police check stop on the way home though... it was the strangest thing! We got stopped in Pakistan all the time, but never here. Alhamdullilah I had all my stuff with me. And at 1 in the morning, it was pretty shady. I like that word.
Alright I'm done.

I love studying in cafes. The atmosphere is PERFECT, with just the right amount of disturbances; slightly audible conversations, jazzy background music, the sound of all the machines they use, and... well... coffee.
With whip cream!
And chocolate sprinkles.
*smile*

The best about studying there though is that you can focus on your work when you have to, and when you need a break, all you have to do is look up.

I swear, observing people that come and go can be sooo amusing! Some of them will come to read a book (which is way too cool). Others will come running through the doors, obviously on their way to work and grabbing their morning fixeruppers. Some come in for casual meetings, and others just come to relaxxxxxxxxxxx. And you can't help but wonder what all these people do, and what kinda lifestyles they lead. Are they religious at all, do they got some values? What kinda person are they?

*chuckle* If there's one thing I've noticed about myself, it's that I' m wayyyyy too observant. Not to mention the fact that I'm a total stalker. I would look up for a few seconds and would catch myself just watching people. I even found just watching their mouths move interesting, and their hand gestures. I would even try to determine the person's relationship with the other. hahhaha. In one instance I caught myself thinking, "Is that her mom or aunt? or family friend?? No way... who would go out with a family friend their mom's age? and by what they're saying, she can't be her mom...". And I also got to watch someone's work presentation and listen in on their business decisions. heh heh hehhhh

Most of the time though it's all just gossip, gossip, gossip! GupShuppp. And what's UP with everyone telling all in cafes. I do it all the time. We're too relaxed there man. It could be dangerous. DOn't get me in a cafe with you. :P

Definitely though, I love the cafe experience. And there are a lot of cool people out there... some weird people too though hehe... (that would be me), but mostly mediocre normal people just living their everyday life. I totally felt like I was apart of the daily routine; Just a random... playin out my role... like all the rest of 'em. Perhaps that's why it's so cool to study in cafes; It's a grounding experience.

*sigh* Ahhh yesss, Shaheen the stalker. Bewarrrreeee.

But alright... I think i've procrastinated enough here.... I still feel like reading a book though. Despite the fact that my textbook would do just fine. Any suggestions?

oh and sorry for the essay...I gotta start realizing that LESS is MORE.
More or less....

You know what I've noticed in that last comment box????????
I'm annoying!!! Why didn't you guys tell me I sound so stupid, and.... fluttery. If there's one thing I don't want to be, it's being fluttery. I mean... all those nonsensical hehehe's and AAAhaha's?! With a khehe and a pssh hah?! I sound ridiculous!! Not to mention an extremist girly girl. Lemme just clarify something, I am NOT a girly girl!!..... Ok so maybe I am, but i'm a girly girl in denial!! I really do mean all those hehehe's though, and I probably do sound high pitched and rather hyper if I was to say it, at that time. But I don't know how you guys could come in here and READ those comments. THey're just damn exhausting!! All I thought was 'oh my gawd, this girl sounds like a first year DITZ!!'.

The lack of sleep is probably why I can't take it though.

But you know what i'm gonna go do right now?? Imma go to sleep!! THas right! 10:44 in the PM and I'mmmmm going to go sleep. InshaAllah. Sleep is wonderful. ALhamdullilah. May you all be blessed with sleep. hahaha how can you tell I need it?

Ok but no girlyness now, I was just about to whip it all out again. Remember... if you catch me being fluttery, just knock me one on the head.

khehehehe *BOOF*

Bwaahaahhahaha Naseeb.com's got chat!!!!!! Excuse me while I go ROTFL.

Hamza has a new found fascination with ripping and cutting things.

I walked into the study room today, and one of my exam question sheets was cut up in odd bits and pieces and strewn all over the floor. I also had to renew my license last month, but had to do so by saying, "Sorry, my nephew ripped the license you mailed out, can I still renew it?"

And now, all the scrap paper I gave him to colour on while he sits beside me as I study is ripped, torn, and spread all over the floor. Grand, just grand.

But Wait... allow me to continue...

All possible trinkets found around the house (and Holy there are a lot), are now collected in what I've recently termed the 'study room', (which by the way is my brother's old room muahahaha). The collection consists of random containers, popsicle moulds, clothes, pots and pans, clips, my cell phone, rulers, erasers, a slipper, a comb, staples (which is dangerous, why is he playing with that), bandaids, a laundry basket, a gameboard, a couple of old AA Batteries, cutlery, a chadar, measuring cups, random highlighters and pen lids, and of course, pieces of paper lying all over the place. I could go on, but I thought this painted an adequate picture.

It's what he calls his 'garbage truck', and every so often, he'd call on me to drive the truck forward by handing me the circular lid of a Rubbermaid container. And did I forget to mention that he's started a 'garage' in my room??
Mmhmm.. Garage... in my room. (Not that it would make any difference).

ohhhhhhhmyyyygawdddd.. i'm up in IQ's (cafe) at university trying to get some studying done...and they're playing DESI MUSIC!!! WHAAATTTT THE HEEEEELLLLL?!?!?!??!?!?!
first it was bhangra... which is ok, i can deal, very funky, except for the scrawny brown guys in here attempting to do the typical 'bhangra', and the silly brown girls squealing and saying 'ohhhh noooo that's no fairr now i wanna dannccee!'
*ughghghg* hehehe

but now they got this terribly annoying song called 'laila'. and it's one of those NASTy cheesy hindi remixes!!! oh gross. i should just go up to the people running this joint and say look... you just can't pull stuff like this off if you're gonna play THAT.

oh well... interesting nevertheless! bhangra pao everybody! hehe you know, i haven't listened to music since ramadan started, and I just realized that IQ's SURE isn't helping at all. oh vell, off to the books i go! (mm.. sure)

So I was chewing Bubbalicious the other day, and it just wasn't the same. You know what that means! It became super unchewable rather quickly, quite like Double Bubble, and the taste didn' t last that long either, quite like Double Bubble!! I mean, did they somehow change Bubbalicious on us while we were in the stages of not buying it too often?! or is it just that... i'm getting old and can't experience it to the same effect as when i was a vivacious carefree halloween candy counting regular big gum chewin kid?!
I'm telling you, chewin that gum the other day put it allllll into perspective!

For instance, I don't listen to the music radio much anymore, but rather CBC Radio 990. I love it! But you get my point right?

and to top it all off, I randomly caught the four A volleyball championship game on tv the other day. Take a wild guess at who was playing? Oak Park vs. DAKOTAAAA!! ( my high school) WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!
(and these were the girls!! the dakota boys were playing next vs. MBCI, but that's a given every year. We never have managed to beat those Mennonite Brethren in the finals though, and I didn't stay and watch their game. BUT THE DAKOTA GIRLS WON!! can u believe it?!)
But just imagine how I felt while watching it. First of all, I miss volleyball way too much and have always regretted not playing in Gr. 11 and 12. It wasn't my fault though really, cuz in Grade 11, we were stuck in India for a week on our way back home from Pakistan, and when I got back, I had missed the tryouts... *cry* but anyways, i got to thinking, 'even if I were to play now, I would probably SUCK!!'. and then i got to thinking, 'damn I'm old'. and THEN i got to thinking, 'ohhhh my gawwddd, that's RAZA'S YEAR!!'

and you what THAT MEANS?! that means RAZA is in grade 12, and he's coming to university next year, and i'll still be there and HOLLLLYYYY MACARONI!! raza! RAZMAN! our little raza. ya Allah, *sigh* what has the world come to? Alhamdullilah there's still Furqan out of our group to reassure us of our youth, but then again, not really, cuz have you seen him recently? HE'S HUGE! and i think he's going into grade 10.
*sigh and headshake in disbelief*

and all these thoughts courtesy of a single piece of strawberry bubbalicious. I never knew gum could be so thought provoking...
