Say What?

Ello ello ello lads and lassies. S'up? ;)

I guess I should post something but I don't feel like posting, or more so, I have noooooo clue what to write about. :P I usually just use this forum to complain about school hehehe. AND A GOOD FORUM FOR THAT IT IS! And I haven't been able to check your comments in a while cuz my ISP doesn't allow it. It's weird... they block some o' that script or some other tech junkie mumbo jumbo. Speaking of mumbo jumbo, I saw my prof in the gym today that used to say that in class all the time... in this thick Iranian accent:

'So if it's a clooosed loop seeestaim then you account for za seeestaim response and follow za rest of that mambo jambo'

I was able to check the comments earlier today though, and alls I gotta say is... don't worry, I haven't been partying it up at all in fact. :P I'm just bumming around the house mostly, thinking of everything i gotta do and not actually doing it. Sound exciting or whaaat! I did have a job interview this afternoon though alhamdullilah. It was kind of strange though cuz the HR girl was probably younger than me... or perhaps the same age or a year older, and the Tech manager was probably only a couple of years older. So you see, it's a whole different ballgame my friends. I might not actually feel intimidated by their wisdom. :P And when I walked into the department, one of my university buddies that graduated a while back was in there and she was pretty much chatting it up on the phone the same way she was the loudest person at the back of the room every class. She was one o' those people that got everyone to turn around and give her the weirded out look. You know. That look. *does the look* It's the look you give to crazy loud arabs that don't stop talking all class and all you hear are the throttal kha's and 'Ain's.

hahahaha i love it, some things just don't change.

I saw Mona Lisa Smile finally last night, and either it was just really late and I was hyper-emotional, or the movie actually does motivate people. By the end of it, I kinda felt like a sell-out myself because I had the potential to do something great and I kinda just settled for mediocrity in terms of grades and field choice. But you know, no regretting it now, it's all OVer. Unfortunately.

Game Over. Whaa whaa

But then again, I still got tonnes o' time inshaAllah. Overall though, in this past week and a half I have realized one thing, and one thing alone: Certainty would be sooo nice right about now. Ya KNOW?!?!

And tag ayan, you're it! Post something to entertain yourself. ;) In the meantime, I just emptied out my closet and now have organized piles of clothing lying all over the place. Not to mention I'm sitting on a full laundry basket and filling you all in. hahahaha. *looks around cautiously* Ya Allah, what have I done!

Interesting things noticed while studying

When I have to get into my hardcore study mode I like to get really comfortable. Even if there's no one home, I have to shut the door. I almost always have to wear a sweater even though I'm not cold, but it has to be a zippable sweater with a comfy hood... not too bulky or suffocating. Socks are a must, and they have to be warm and cozy. The percentage of air recirculation depends on how nice it is outside; I'd say with the beautiful weather we're having right now, it's about 60%. And at night-time, the window has to be open just a teensy weensy bit to allow some o' that freshness into my deoxygenated room/brain. Depending on the subject, I like to have some random background music playing... but it can't be on loud speakers, I have to have non-invasive headphones. And the music can't be something distracting, just quality instrumental or soulful music that I can enjoy and not pay too much attention to. Right now I have the most random playlist of Jazz, Cranberries, AfroCelt, Brandy & Monica, Loreena McKennit, and yes, even Sami Yusuf. It can't be something I've never heard before because then I start to pay attention. I unknowingly sing along and it's all good cuz I can't hear myself. Because I'm extremely sensitive to temperature change, I've noticed how uncomfortable I get after having made wudu. I roll up my sleeves just enough, but always manage to get the cuffs wet. Then when I'm back at the study table, I'm all cold for the next hour. Is that just me or do the rest of you get bothered by that? Oh and yeah, I have to have a warm drink every 2 hours or so. There's something about my internal climate that I don't quite understand yet. I sometimes think I'm ectodermic.

Anyhow, that's just me in my study cocoon. I hear nothing I don't wanna hear, see nothing but what's in front of me because of my jedi hoodie, the temperature's gotta be just right, and the door shut. It's nice.

Am I gonna miss this?? Perhaps. Tomorrow's my last exam inshaAllah. Pray for me please. And maybe while you're at it, what are YOUR strange study habits?

Du'aas away to all you hardcore students, and non-students alike.

Sorry ayan, I copied you

One Down, Two More To Go...

So I bought myself a computer right... and it should be here within 12 days. Approximately. But I was sent a shipment tracking number via email, so I curiously went to go check it out.

and this is what I found!

Apparently, my computer's been to China, Alaska, and Teyneysee, when it SHOULD have just been from somewhere in the States. HMMMMMMMM... somethin' fishy goin on around here. So I guess Apples are made in Shanghai?? THen shipped somewhere in the states to get stamped?? And then sent to me? All of them. To me.

On another note, it's spring. And I am EXTARRREEEMELY happy. Alhamdullilah. hehehehe it's ROLLERBLADING season!! WOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OH and yeah, in terms of exams: one down, two more to go.

Spring spring spring spring spring spring spring spring.....

I Hear The Birds Chirping

Don't you just love all nighters? Oh I love them. Oh I really do. You know why? I don't know why she swallowed a fly. Perhaps she'll die.

But seriously, it's about the only time I can hear the birds chirping and it's still dark. About the only time I hear strange noises at night and have to shut off the light and look out the window to perchance catch a criminal. About the only time I can eat only one pizza pocket. About the only time you can listen to three entire bbc radio programs all in a row and can still go for more. Just about the only time my house is quiet, and just about the only time I'd post about the only times.

I had two projects due yesterday. One of them I couldn't hand in because my partner and I couldn't quite figure out why our results were all wack. Our graph did a really funky thing though that made it look extremely Star Trek, but seeing as how the project is worth 15%, I thought of Commander LaForge and how he would never hand in anything not up to par. DAMNIT JORDI! THE LIFE OF THE CREW DEPENDS ON IT!

So I spent all night fixing it, and now that I've fixed it, I'm very happy. Don't I sound happy? Yes. I fixed the (insert expletive here... here... and HERE) graph.

My apologies. I've been up for many hours. And in the course of a week, I"ve slept for very little. Actually... there were times when all I wanted to do was swear. It was like at the tip of my tongue... or front two teeth. I think that comes from having group members that cuss all the time. And then when they're frustrated I get frustrated cuz they're annoying and then I get annoyed and then in my head I hear FFFfff but don't actually say it. You know? I know you know.

But Alhamdullilah this week has been amazing. Not because I realized I can rap my own lyrics to songs playing on the radio at 3 in the morning on the drive home, that actually work... (although qamer doesn't believe me cuz she says I probably was delusional at that time and the lyrics didn't really fit, I only thought it fit... which kinda sounds fitting doesn't it.) In fact, you guys wanna know what I was saying? I'm telling you, it really worked. "You know you're drivin' slow cuz it's two in the mornin' and you wanna go home. *repeat* You wanna sleep, you wanna creep, into your bed..."

Anyways, all I was saying was...with the amount of work I've accomplished this week while totally abusing my system, with absolutely no sleep at all and no brainpower, ir really makes me wonder how amazing Allah swt is to me. Like... I don't think I deserve it to tell you the truth, but yeah, He's really helped me out this week. So umm... Thank You. You Rule.

That is all.
