Quickie Update

My teeth hurt. Who knew wisdom came at such a price.

Blimey. Anti-inflammatories they say. Until tuesday. Also supposed to take it for my shoulder they say. The one I busted a couple of years ago snowboarding. It's a victory scar mind you. A victory scar. Zia can tell you. T'is no exaggeration. Blimey.

Physiotherapy they also say. or physiothiraapy depending on how you like to say it. Last two weeks it's been killing like I just injured it. Oh joy, oh joy, my shoulder's gone-a-busted and my knobby knees feel rusted.

Wedding galore, a wedding a weekend. Perhaps even two. MashaAllah.

Basement's a mess. A MESS. Sifting through boxes and throwing stuff out. Painstaking yet relieving when you see empty space. SPACE?? What's that? OOh!! White wall!! Or slightly brown wall perhaps. It's a jackpot for Note Tote's, yearbooks, and funky hairbands though. Also very funky clothes and colours that are making a comeback. ;) Neon pink, green and yellows. Bright blue and light purples. Pink tie-die Chip & Peppers!! Notes on my books that say 'Cowabunga' and a self-made shirt that in sparkly red lettering says, 'Rad Rana' above a peace sign.

Bridal shower next weekend. oooohhhh i'm excited. 80's theme. (HELLO WARDROBE ABOVE!)

Sarah's wedding next weekend too. heehee :)))))))))))))))

Naz's wedding the weekend after. *nervous and so happy it hurts* *it could be my teeth though.. or maybe my shoulder.. or maybe my knees?? No, I think it's something else*

Painting. *surprise*

It's June 26th. That's just sick.

And just got a phonecall while writing this and... *drumroll* our buddy yasmeen just had a baby boy. khehehehehehe mashaAllah.

So Happy I Can't Contain It

BarakAllahu Laka wa BarakAllah alayk, wa jama'a baynakuma fi khair

May Allah bless for you (your spouse), and bless you, and may He unite both of you in goodness.

To my beautiful buddy nusraat. And okay, maybe mullah too. :)

You Snooze You Lose

So I have this little posting board in my room that I haven't cleaned off since... well let's say since I started university. I'd just tack on more stuff to it rather than cleaning it off, and anyone that's been in my room always comments, "So you haven't touched that thing in a while hunh?"

WELL!! I finally took it down and started cleaning it off... not for the purpose of cleaning it off but I was finally replacing it with something more exciting. I swear it's like a memory box, except more dusty, dustiness decreasing with each layer. And I found this note. I haven't even stopped cleaning it off yet. So far I've removed event ads, important phone numbers, things to do lists, business cards, you name it. Among the to do lists was something called Website Ideas dated 2002. It was a great list, (some kept secret in hopes to make one in the future) but the best of all ideas was right at the bottom of the list, including the haha's:

- hehe matching services for my friends!
get specifics from M, S, M, S, S, N, J, Z, S, Z, S, S
HAHAHA That would be so funny.
They would have to register with me first and put up their own ad.
HAHAHA
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

If only I had actually followed my To Do lists... naseeb.com already beat me to it.

Saima's in town, so turn that frown upside down!

Everything I said about not being with it and events being surreal and stuff?? Well maybe saima's presence made it all balance it out cuz none of us could stop talking today. I also took a nap today, but i'll just say it was a combination of both. We walked into Chapters, took a seat in their cafe with intentions on eventually getting up and buying something, but as soon as we hit the chairs we did not get up. Before we knew it the store was closing and we were leaving emptyhanded, desi style. *accent* "Ohhh let's go sit on their nice couches and not buy anything!!"

It was just such a nice evening alhamdullilah. Please pray for her and her family though inshaAllah. And qamer too. And nusraat too. And sadiya too. And while you're at it, all my buddies, their families, and their family's buddies. :P Thanks. May the Angels say ameen to your du'aa and make the same du'aa for you.

And this has nothing to do with current events, but I have a question: Do guys KNOW when they're being jerks? Like do they feel guilty after mistreating someone or are they just somehow oblivious to other people's emotions? I always wondered about that.

I can't say that I didn't have a good time tonight. It's just that everything I do these days and everywhere I go seems so surreal that I'm almost not there. At the end of the day I blame it on lack of energy, even though I do have a good time and I do participate. But I'm still just not with it. So basically I drift away from my crazy physical self doing weird things as I float in walla walla land doing absolutely nothing. Speaking of crazy things, I finally bought Cranium. I've been wanting to buy it for quite some time so I could bust it out at one of our girl parties but never got a chance to. Saira even said she was gonna buy it for me cuz I wanted it that badly but she didn't get a chance to either. And so my mom, my ever so cool mom, bought it for me today while she was at Walmart (the store with limited cabinet liner designs) for our party.

It was hilarious. People had a good time. I recommend it! I learned something new too. A moth to the flame. New expression. I'm exhausted. Like a moth to the flame, I sleep.

Like sands through the hourglass... so are the days of our lives.

Chaos Ensues

So my brother and sis-in-law (which sounds so wrong when I say it so I'll call her my sis) are moving into a house a couple of houses behind ours. It's all hunky dory and fabulous of course, alhamdullilah. It's much better than the car ride across town 3 times a day, and we get to see our little buddies whenever we want. But little did I know that it was gonna be like a weekend at our house...every day. :P hehehe I must admit that I got used to the quiet weekdays. They were perfect for working if I wanted, and doing nothing if I wanted. :D NOW however, I swear that back door's slamming every two minutes, followed by phrases like, "Is there anything to eat?" "Where's my toolbox?" "Can you look after the kids?" "What are you doing?" "Where's Najma?" "Are there any clean clothes for hamza over here?"

Then just about every 10 minutes, my lil nephew comes crawling in swaying his big diaper bum, and looking up at me ever so nicely with those big eyes that say, "You know you wanna pick me up!!" Eventually I do pick him up, because helllloooo, big eyes, big cheeks, big slobbery face, AND big diaper bum, how can you resist?!

*sigh*

But oh yeah, speaking of Ibraheem... yesterday Qamer and I were testing out some songs, when Ibraheem lifted himself up and started doing a thug-like bop and baby-like raise the roof. khehehe it was very amusing.

On another note, I went to Walmart the other day to pick up cabinet lining. You know, those sticky paper things that you line your cabinets with? Well... I was surprised by the lack of creativity in the choices I had. I mean, come on, it's 2005. It's easy to make funky patterns now, you know? But no, they were as mundane as cabinet linings could possibly be, from passe marble to blah nothingness. I was very disappointed. I ended up buying the only thing with a tinge of happy colours in it, but it still looks like it was made in the early 80's. :P Not that I have anything against the early 80's, for I was born in the early 80's. But it's a simple light brown pattern with iddy biddy red roses on them. Oh well. Maybe it's a calling. Maybe THIS is what I should do in life. Make cabinet lining patterns? khehehe It's not like I'm doing anything else right now anyways.

Today at a wedding I realized that my sis in law never met this other person that just moved here.. ok well two years ago.. and I've been seeing her at every other wedding every other weekend and she even came to our house and I know her name, I even knew I knew her name at the time too but in a quick flash when it was time to do the introductions I just could NOT remember her name for the life of me so I kept on racking my brain while najma and her kept on gawking at the fact that they've never met one another and then I provoked further conversation by saying, "I can't believe you've never met before..." and then racked my brain again thinking, "what the heckkkkkkk is her name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". So then I gave up and then just said, "Well... this is Najma" and waited, oh I waited and waited, until she would finish the sentence and introduce herself. Then Najma had to ask her outright, "what's your name?"

She so figured out that I couldn't remember her name. I felt so guilty. So so guilty. Cuz I really like this person. Like a lot. Like oh my God.

Regardless, I still thought this was cute. My buddddiiiieeeeeeeesssssssssss.
