Day 2, 3, 4: On a Mission... But Not

Hey guys assalamu alaikum. I'm absolutely exhausted but I just wanted to say that Kiran and Saif bhai are the best hosts ever! MashaAllah. They're so cute. Kiran just moved here to Toronto as well so we're adventuring together. Mostly I'm showing HEr where to go... hehehe it's fun. The first few days were spent wondering what the heck I was gonna do because the agencies apparently don't hire entry level engineers, companies mostly do that on their own. So I've been doing some research in downtown going to the Toronto Reference Library on a listing of companies in the area... agencies.. etc. (this was before finding out that they're useless). The only reason I'm mentioning the Toronto Reference Library to you guys is cuz it is absolutely fantastic. I took a picture in there and I wish I had a digital camera to show you but sorry... I don't. Perhaps when I get it developed.

Last night I tried hooking up a dinner for tonight, for everyone of the old online crew that was in Toronto to meet at the Lahore Tikka House. My friend lent me her car cuz she was too sick to go with me, bechari, so I headed down there, and no one showed up except for one person. Do you know how embarassing that was for me?!?! hahahhahaha I actually randomly laughed throughout the dinner at how I got stood up by everyone. He musta thought I was absolutely mental. But anyways, I won't go into too much details cuz well.. I'm embarassed. But I did have fun!

I just got back from the evening out... After the dinner I went to pick up Kiran from work and we looked for a quick dessert place to go to. There weren't any in the area so we aimlessly drove back to Gerrard where Lahore tikka house was and we even contemplated going back in, but I stopped myself cuz they'd be like, 'first you were here with someone else, what'd you do with him??'

So eventually Kiran and I found this place called Demetri's. I recognized the font of the sign immediately. Shehla had just taken me to one in Mississauga a few days earlier and it was A-Maze-ing. So I quickly did a U-turn and found us a quicky parking spot!! Hehehe it was so worth it. They have various flavours of rich ice cream served on waffles... MMM...When I went with Shehla and her sister Farrah in Mrs. Sauga, apparently some of the icing sugar ended up on both of my cheeks and I had no clue until shehla started pointing at me and laughing. hahhahahaha. Well... let's just say kiran's experience was even more entertaining!! She somehow managed to get whip cream on her black jacket, and powder spots ALL OVER her jacket. hahahhah I don't really understand how that happened though! I think it's cuz they border the plate with the powder. But I was speaking to qamer on the phone later on and I couldn't help but notice kiran licking her fork clean. Let's just say we laughed so hard we were holding our hearts and stomachs, and awkwardly trying to wipe away the tears.

hahhahahah she's gonna check this tomorrow or whenever and absolutely kill me. I'll keep her busy though so she won't have time to until sunday.

I've had some funny transportation stories so far... but I don't even know where to begin. The most memorable yet unfortunate one would certainly have to be the one where this middle aged man that I would normally call an Uncle sat beside me on the bus. See... if he was a nice uncle, he would just sit there, be respectful of my space, or get the hell up and move to another seat.

No.

When I first got to the station, he curiously glanced over, and continued to do so throughout the 15 minute wait for the bus. Fine, I thought. Not a big deal, just a curious brown uncle. So I was the first one to get onto the empty bus and I contemplated sitting beside this really nice trini lady that I was talking to earlier. Just as I was thinking of moving, the uncle comes onto the empty bus, and doesn't just sit down in the 50 remaining open seats, but comes and sQQQUisshes me into the frickin corner.

I was so pissed.

Well... pissed, maybe. I was like, should I tell him to sit elsewhere. The only reason I didn't is cuz I feel weird saying that to a man his age. He's frickin old man, hasn't he gotten over it yet?? Is he a nice uncle and just trying to protect me from weirdos that would sit beside me?

Well... I highly doubt it was the last one but I wished it was. Except when I'd look out the window that was fogged up and that u couldn't see anything out of anyways, he would be looking in my direction. And yes, go ahead, say it. Together now.. "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW"

Astaghferullah, some people here are just sick man.

And speaking of astaghferullah... someone made fun of me yesterday for saying inshaAllah subhanAllah mashaAllah in all my sentences. What NERVE!! I DON'T EVEN KNOW U BUDDY WHY U MOCKIN ME FOR? SUBHANALLAH!!!!

hehehe jk.

shabbakhair you guys. and for all those that stood me up today... i'll get you back.

p.s. SADIYA TELL IDIL TO MEET UP WITH US ON SATURDAY!! 7 O' CLOCK! tell her to call me on my cell.
