Work Istinks!

So it's christmas, and all through the land, people are merry, with no work at hand.
But to make use of this free weekend, what is shaheen doing? She's working of course, her frustration brewing.
No time to relax, no lounging in chairs,
No hanging with friends, no shopping, Au Contraire!
No Saturday clean up, no shuffling of books,
No putting away notes of all the courses she took,
No movies last night, tonight, tomorrow, or the next,
No tobogganing, no snowball fights, she's getting quite vexed!
No time to just play like everyone else,
Or rearrange her room and put up those shelves!
No cavorting with nephews, bhabhi, or sibling,
No tickling, mocking, fighting or heckling.
No stomach rumbling smells coming from her mom's kitchen,
Only stories on the work radio about Comet and Blitzen.

But Alas! Her complaints are falling on deaf ears,
for she's been working these shifts for years upon years.
If only she could have one day off with everyone else, but nay.
Afterall, it is a national holiday.
