man, all i gotta say is, subhanAllah, my family in pakistan has gone from having barely any signs of technological advances to chuggin right along with us, all within a period of a couple of years.

just a few years back, maybe 8, we got electricity in our village. and We didn't get phones till this year. BUT NEVERMIND THAT! they totally skipped getting regular phones and now all have cell phones! hahhaha that's just too hard to handle!

and just right now, i spoke to one family in gujranwala over the internet... and i mean... since WHEN did the rana family tune into THAT?! holy mackerel, i'm in shock.

and now it's just all too much cuz here i am, trying to pull an all nighter, and my cousins wanna do the whole webcam thing. i'm like first of all... it's 1 in the morning. 2nd of all, i don't think you guys really wanna see me in this state!!, and third, I DON' GOT TIME FOR DIS RIGHT NOW! but you know what? it was greeeaat alhamdullilah. and i also got a chance to speak to kiran who's in pakistan right now! CRAZZZZZZZZZYY! we don't even talk when she's here in canada, the loser! :P oh and she says salam to everyone.
and not just that!! at around midnight, my dad calls one o' the cell phones in our village (it's a total rana village, just dial one of the numbers and u can get em all) and spoke to our uncle as well.

so now i'm exhausted!! i've never had so much contact with pakistan in one day. and oh gosh, the phone is ringing right now...
hahhahaha i just reread this.. how perfect! it was a cousin from pakistan who's on a peace mission in sierra leone. that sounds scary. ok but like.. wow... i'm tired. this could be because it's 4am and T-1 hour till saheri... suhoor. you say suhoor, i say saheri. you say sleep, i say study. you say tomato, i say tamatarrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

i'm losin it. and i wasted my all nighter!!! *cry* all i know is... i liked my village wiTHOUT those resources.

hahhaah but not for the above reasons. it was just so wonderful and spacious and OPEN. khulli havaa, and just the sound of the tubewell in the distance. ohhhh that was so nice. now u hear the tubewell, plus the next door neighbours tv. and the naalian (gutters) are nasty, and along with the electricity poles, they've taken up our pathway space, which used to be so wide!

wowwww how can u tell it's 4 in the morning? i can't even say 'but i digress' cuz this whole post was digression^10! ok but i should just stop cuz now i'm startin to sound absolutely ridiculous. (*shaheen does a retarded imitation of digression^10*)
